Another week in Italia
The second week I spent in Italia this summer.
Less events, more time for the Dolomiti. A selection of photos.
More on flickr slideshow.
2006 will go down in history as the year of broken summer.
All over Europe, July was record-breaking hot, august
record-breaking cold and wet.
Near the top of Monta Roen. This mountain slopes gently on the side
of Val di Non, but the side of the Adige is nearly vertical.
So the clouds coming from the northeast rise up along the
ridge first, and then spill over. It's impressive.
Fondo has its quiet moments, too.
In the neighbouring town of Malosco, the old castle badly needs
refurbishment. My thoughts were going out... restoring the
characteristic stone elements and the walled garden,
opening a luxury hotel, with a large wellness area...
anyone willing to invest a couple of million?
Ciao, arrivederci, wiedersehen!
