Let it snow, let it snow...
Backstory: The ciaspolada a race on snowshoes, is an annual event in the Val di Non. In the old days - until a decade ago - snow was never a problem, but recently it's not a guarantee anymore. Global warming in action. So, a huge mountain of artificially produced snow is prepared, to be put on the circuit the day before the race.
I don't even want to start to think about the energy needed for this, adding itself even more to the warming of the earth.
